DTF Motif 01

Painted by hand in 2023. The last letter is reversed. It is not a typo.

The R at the end flips. The first time it happened it was a joke — one stroke of a brush on a studio floor in August 2023 and the mark was drawn back-to-front. The second time it happened it was a thesis. The brand is about the thing you notice on the second look, and the reversed R is the whole brand in one letter. October 2024, a long thread with Jesame locked the reference: Loewe trompe-l'œil, Bode patchwork, Wales Bonner letterforms, the idea of a garment that reads differently the second time it crosses the room. HP-1 is that thesis worn. It is not a graphic tee. It is hand-painted 2023 art applied to a heavy cotton blank with a decoration method chosen so the paint still reads as paint.

Material & print. AS Colour 5080 Heavy Faded Tee, 220 gsm combed ring-spun cotton, Obsidian Pearl ground rgb(19,19,21). Full-chest DTF transfer of the original Shirt Prints/IMG_1675 hand-painted source — approximately 26 cm wide, top edge ~9 cm below the collar seam, Pearl ink rgb(232,228,223) against obsidian. Soft-hand matte film; the print should feel pressed into the fabric rather than sitting on top of it. Every sample that fails the hand-feel test is rejected before production. Durability held at 30 washes without edge lift or print crack. Woven "RÊVASSER / NEW YORK" label at the nape. Care: inside-out cold, tumble low, no iron on print, no dry-clean.

Fit & wear. Same short-box block as the Always Tee. The mark sits centered over the sternum; when the wearer turns sideways the print reads as a single bar of typography rather than a logo. The hand-painted source means each transfer carries edge break and minor color variance — intentional, not a defect. A second transfer printed from the same file will read one or two shades cooler at the edges. That is the mark of the hand, and it is the whole point.
